OUR TOWN at TreePeople
I was fortunate enough to be invited to perform in a staged reading of OUR TOWN this week. TreePeople put on the fundraiser as part of their Once Upon a Canyon Night summer season, and I had the privilege of working with an incredibly talented, friendly, and fun-loving team. I only wish the run could have been longer! #theatre #performance #acting #reading #ourtown #TreePeople

"Directed By" at Impro Theatre
I'm in a really cool improvised performance this weekend. "Directed By" takes a suggestion from the audience and puts the actors and story at the mercy of the Director, Paul Hungerford. Last time we did this, it was a rousing success - hope you all can make it! SATURDAY

Final UiP Show
Last night, I performed in my final long-form improv show with UiP. Over my four-year journey with this group, I went from having no confidence to thinking I had confidence to actually having confidence in my skills as an improviser. Happily, I consider this final show my personal best. Though I will dearly miss UiP, I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to spend the last few years improvising with these wonderful people. Six Meters: Painting With Bodies
Our final show of the year saw us begin with a solo on a white canvas before covering ourselves and each other in paint while we danced as an ensemble. A highlight on Muhlenberg's campus, an audience gathered on three sides to watch us play and dance with vibrant colors. This group has been very special to me, and I will miss them intensely as I begin my professional life in LA next month. #painting #bodies #dance #improv #performance #audience #art #participation #love #colo

Going UiP on a Tuesday!
Last night, we had a wonderful performance in UiP, doing long-form improv for over a hundred people at our usual Red Door venue. One striking quality of this group is how much fun we have together - I hope that in LA I'll be able to work consistently with another improv group that takes so much joy from the process. What a privilege to be a part of an ensemble that constantly strives to be better, tighter, and more supportive while also having a blast. That's how I want to wo

Six Meters at Hillside School
On Friday, February 27, we performed at Hillside, an elementary and middle school for children with ADD and related learning disabilities. The audience of about 100 was attentive and engaged, and our performance of a little over an hour flew by. I danced using a bundle of long sticks as sound, tapping them on the ground, letting them fall, swishing them through the air, scraping them against each other. These sounds inspired a fellow dancer’s movements in a duet. We then used

Six Meters Performance: "DRESS WARM"
For our first on-campus performance of the year, Six Meters amassed a gigantic pile of clothes in the Brown Dance Studio. Pulling clothes from the pile, wearing them in unconventional ways, burying ourselves, using it as an obstacle, imagining it as a hill under the stars, we explored the possibilities of movement and costuming. I also improvised on the piano to accompany my fellow dancers during a sequence. Dancing in "DRESS WARM" on Valentine's Day turned a difficult holida

Six Meters at Phoebe Retirement Home
On Wednesday, I performed with Six Meters at Allentown's Phoebe Retirement Home. We began by demonstrating some improvisational dance techniques: 8s, opening spaces, all stopping and starting at the same time, before doing an exercise called "filling in spaces." With a partner, you fill in the spaces of their body, which can be under their arms, between their fingers, between their head and back, anywhere. Then one partner moves away, leaving the other in a dynamic shape. We
